How To Choosing The Right Baby Gifts?

May 25, 2009

Choosing the right baby gifts can be a mind boggling experience, given the vast array of commercial choices available in today’s supermarkets. But the one thing that has to be kept in mind while selecting that one special baby gift is- that it is as much for the mother as for the baby- since there are many items that a mother can use but not necessarily afford to buy. for more detail go to:www.babies-tips.com.So, the next time a baby shower, a birthday party or a christening comes around, use the following list of 10 bright ideas to buy baby gift items which are guaranteed to make an impression.

Baby Toys – These gifts never go out of style and are immensely enjoyed by babies. Baby toys are specifically designed for particular age groups. So, all one has to do is to pick up a toy that is made for the appropriate age as shown on the cover or packing of the toy. The best and the most appreciated baby toy one can pick is a teddy bear or any other soft toy as these are appropriate for babies of all ages. So to avoid confusion, it is best to buy baby gift toys that are soft and plush.

Baby Monitor – Safety of their baby is the top priority of most parents and to rest their minds on this issue, monitors are a perfect solution. Through such monitors, it is possible to observe and detect the movements, breathing or crying of a baby both audibly and visually. One can choose from a wide variety of baby monitors such as; audio/video, audio-only, motion-sensor etc; which are available in a widely priced range in the market.

Baby Bath Care – For more help visit to: www.create-super-baby.com. Gifting an expensive bath care set to the baby will be an ideal way of sending the right message to the mind of parents by showing that you care about the welfare of the baby.
Baby Stroller – This is a must-buy item in every parent’s baby list. So why not save the busy parents both the effort and the cash? Gifting this article in every parent’s wish list would be so much better than presenting something completely unnecessary.

Baby Books – Gifting the baby with books, appropriate for his or her age, is always a good choice. The reading habit is best inculcated at a young age and the parents will thank you for this. Make sure that your book has a lot of illustrations as pictures and colors fascinate the eyes of a baby. Remember to buy those books which have thick cardboard or other good quality binding material for durability. But be sure to check for sharp edges!

Baby Blankets and Sleep Kits – Getting a cozy baby blanket and other sleep accessories is a perfect way of celebrating the baby’s arrival. Nowadays, it is possible to customize the baby blankets. Truly, nothing can be more unique than a personalized baby blanket. They can be found in numerous colors, materials and designs. So, the next time you are scouting for a baby gift, think of a personalized baby blanket.

Baby Clothes – Smart clothes for the baby will definitely bring genuine appreciation from the parents, and more so if it is the second child. The baby will be spared from the usual practice of hand-me-downs! If one explores in the baby shops, one can easily find beautifully made baby clothes, keeping in mind the contemporary trends in fashion. Gifting fashionable and branded baby clothes is quite the rage these days.

Baby Bedding – The bedding will include everything from the mattress to the blanket and pillows, as well as the mosquito netting. This will save a lot of expense on the part of the parents.

Baby Bouncers – Baby bouncers are more or less like a bean bag, where a baby can roll and bounce and generally have the time of his or her life. These have a belt to guarantee the safety of the baby. Buying baby bouncers or mobile-type walkers ensure a happy baby.

Baby Jewels – A jewel is an invaluable gift that will be treasured for a lifetime. They also make an exceptional baby gift. One can browse on the net for websites dedicated to baby accessories including baby jeweler which is displayed online. These sites also ship and home-deliver the items, so that you don’t need to go out and purchase them.

Baby Products Highly Fragranced

May 20, 2009

Yes I am on my soap box again!

Let me ask you why do babies and littlies in general need fragranced skin care and bath wash?

Do we really need to smother our kids in fragrance derived from nasty allergy causing chemicals?

Afterall, every one knows and loves the “ baby smell” and news flash it’s a totally natural scent! Its not because we bath them in pefumed products and cover them in sweet smelling moisturizers.

A child of any age has their own gorgoeous smell due to their natural pherimones so why do we try and cover this up with irritants in the form of baby cosmetics?

Funnily enough one of the worlds most well known brands Johnson and Johnson can have the worst ingrediants for bubs listed in some of their baby care range.

For instance, Johnson and Johnson Baby Bath almost reeks with fragrance it is a gentle cleanser but the fragrance component is an allergic reaction just waiting to happen!

Of course have you ever checked the back of a Johnson and Johnson baby bath product? When you do you will find our old mate Sodium laureth sulfate listed within the first five ingrediants.

In general, a child’s skin would be better off when we introduce it to products that are fragrance and colour free that contain light cleansing agents not skin stripping chemicals.

Go organic why not try using sweet almond oil in the bath instead! Need I say more?

Bengal – is he ok, crying louder/longer and also bit of coughing?

May 18, 2009

I always fuss over my 2 little begal babies, had them for 2 years now and they are gorgeous.

My little boy Bengal had always been quite vocal especially if he is not in the same room as me (unfotunatley sometimes i do have to keep him out of certain rooms for his own safety!) but the last 2 weeks he has become increasingly vocal.

He is crying louder (and deeper – that terrible heartbreaking cry they do) and also still doing it when we are in same rooms as him all the time when he is awake. The last two nights he has also had about 10 mins in the middle of the nigth coughing (like he is wheesily coughing up phleym but nothing comes up) then afterwards (and during day) he does not cough.

The only other time he coughs like this is if he drinks from the tap which he has always done and the vet didn't think it was an issue?.

I also took him outside into the garden when it was warm 2 weeks ago on a harness as he had not been outside before.

Are these things connected? I am totally fine with his crying as it doesnt bother me but is it normal and could it be connected to his cough he has had?/going outside?

I don't want any unecessary distress taking him to the vets if it is nothing as it is VERY mild and has only happened a couple of times but its just that he is crying more too i though't i'd maybe get him checked out?.

He is also eating and looks healthy (eyes/nose etc) and his 'activity' and toilet habits are normal. .
UPDATE – Hi Autumn,

No not got any answers on this coughin after drinking from tap!!! i wonder if anyone else has this with theirs – it is v strange – I may post a message on Facebook bengal page to see ………
